About this venue

Highlights

A perfect venue for fairytale weddings with the ambiance of royalty and the classy vibe of the 17th century - that's the best description for this private manor house in Sligo. More than just a manor house, it's a huge estate with 1000 acres of land filled with trees and greenery. The estate lies along a beautiful lake, making it a peaceful venue for intimate weddings in Ireland.

The manor house invites you to its tranquil surroundings, where you can have an outdoor wedding amidst the beautiful Irish nature. Even in the worst of weather, you can take the ceremony indoors inside one of the elegant rooms filled with grandeur and a real sense of intimacy. Keep reading as we elaborate on the possible scenarios of your destination wedding in this manor house.

Surroundings

The manor house sits in the middle of the 1000-acre land, surrounded by pure Irish nature. The terraced gardens were designed with Italian inspiration, while a Spanish chestnut tree gives shade to those enjoying a lovely afternoon outside the manor house.

You'll be delighted to see the venue's vegetable garden, where they get the ingredients for the kitchen. Around it are old varieties of plums, figs, apple trees, and pears. More than half of the estate, totaling 600 acres, is a woodland in its natural state with ferns and bluebells in vibrant colors.

Other attractions include a farm with 1600 healthy sheep, a testament to the sufficient grass growth in the estate. Above all, the 200-acre pear-shaped lake is the best feature of the estate, where you and your loved one can sit while having a picnic and chatting on a quiet afternoon. If you want some adventure, you can ride a boat and fish on the lake or travel the paths and tracks to some exciting attractions in the country estate.

Imagine these beautiful surroundings as the setting for your destination wedding and honeymoon in Ireland.

Ceremony

Whatever ceremony you want, you can have it in the manor house. It is conducive for a church wedding, a civil ceremony, a humanist celebration, and just about any wedding. You can even have a legally-binding Irish wedding in the registry office and mix it with a symbolic ceremony in the venue.

The best type of wedding we have seen here are outdoor ceremonies in the terraced garden with tall, vibrant trees on one end and the manor house in the background.

If the weather is unkind, you can still have a well-lit ceremony in the Gallery with a spectacular skylight. You can also have a ceremony inside one of the manor house's rooms with classy interiors, antique decor, and pure grandeur. The venue offers flexibility with a variety of function rooms, some for intimate weddings and some for bigger gatherings.

The venue can accommodate weddings with as few as ten guests to as many as 120. Both ceremony areas and reception rooms are conducive for these sizes of weddings.

If you would like a church wedding, there are many beautiful churches and chapels of all denominations around the venue where you can have a solemn ceremony. There is even a Cathedral in Sligo for a historic and grand Catholic wedding.

Reception

Flexibility is important in all wedding receptions, and the manor house allows for much of that when you get married here.

You can have an intimate wedding reception in the vestibule, with your guests standing at the grand staircase, enjoying cocktails, and listening to the speeches. The venue staff can set up free-range seating for your intimate group in the vestibule with buffet-style dining arrangements. This is an excellent option for weddings of up to 20 persons.

There are several dining rooms inside the manor house, including a grand hall, a small room for private dinners with exquisite chandeliers and elegant chairs and tables, and a library for a unique celebration.

Of course, you can celebrate in the middle of the garden overlooking the lake, which is the best spot for outdoor wedding receptions on a bright and sunny afternoon. After the speeches and dinner, you can take the party inside the ballroom and forget about all the wedding formalities for a whole night of dancing and singing.

Accommodation

When you're tired from all the celebrations, you don't have to travel elsewhere for the night. You can stay right inside the manor house and even invite your guests to sleep over.

The venue has ten rooms available for accommodation in the big house and four others in the cottage. The whole estate can sleep up to 28 persons, ideal for intimate weddings. That should be enough to accommodate the bride and groom, their family, and the bridal party.

Taking advantage of the manor house's accommodation means having the chance to take your breakfast in the garden overlooking the beautiful nature and the lake that glistens under the sun.

Since the venue is only ten minutes from the Wild Atlantic Way, you can start your honeymoon with a trip to the cliffs and the ocean for an adventure like no other.

This is the picture of your intimate wedding and honeymoon in Ireland if you choose the manor house for your big day. Feel free to contact us if you're ready to make your dream wedding come true.
