The house was originally built in the 13th century and then vastly remodeled in the 16th century to look as it does today. This venue should not be confused with the nearby hotel, gardens was voted number 3 in the World’s Top Ten Gardens by National Geographic. Some of the attractions of the gardens include The Walled Gardens, The Italian Garden, The Dolphin Pond, The Japanese Gardens, Pets Cemetery and the famous Pepperpot Tower. The gardens are also home to the famous ornate 'Bamberg Gate', a 240 year old gate that came from the Cathedral at Bamberg in Germany.

Ceremony

Today this luxury wedding manor near Dublin, which was first opened to the public in 1997, is a much sought-after wedding venue in Ireland due to its splendor and close proximity to Dublin City. Weddings taking place at this venue House can enjoy complete privacy of the gardens from 5pm onwards, when the house's opening hours end. In good weather conditions, wedding ceremonies can take place outside in front of the Bamberg Gate. Otherwise, the house's beautiful ground floor entry hall is used for indoor ceremonies.

Reception

The reception takes place in the stately upstairs ballroom, featuring marble columns and two-story high ceilings, which can accommodate up to 120 guests on round tables. The evening celebration can then continue in the Garden View Room which, as the name suggests, opens up it's windows onto the Powerscourt Gardens.

Accommodation

The house itself does not offer on-site accommodation, so most couples and their guest choose to stay at a hotel which offers special room rates to wedding groups.

Privacy

Whilst the hotel manages events that take place at this luxury wedding manor and provide the catering service, the house must be rented separately for an additional fee.
