This hidden gem in Lot, France is known for the luxurious hotel experience, fine wines, and gastronomy that it offers to every guest.

Since 1983, the chateau has been the Vigouroux family jewel revealing the excellence of its terroir. When it opened its doors for weddings, it continued receiving inquiries from couples who wanted a French destination wedding in a countryside chateau.

If you're one of the couples who want an authentic French chateau wedding in this hidden gem in Lot, prepare to be transported in time by the venue's unique ambiance.

More than just an elegant medieval chateau with a royal ambiance, it is also a wine-estate hotel that offers unparalleled picturesque views of the Lot Valley and Cahors vineyards. Discover how you can have your fairytale French wedding in this wine chateau.

History

The chateau's history can be traced to as far back as the 13th century, but before the chateau was built, a chapel was already constructed on the site as early as the 7th century.

The chapel served as the residence of the Bishops of Cahors until the separation of church and state in 1905. After World War II, the estate became a château hotel but had been in a state of disuse and abandonment before it fell into the hands of Georges Vigouroux in 1983.

Mr. Vigouroux saw the castle's potential and renovated it to its former glory with a vision of turning it into a wine chateau. The first harvest happened in 1987, and since then, it has become one of the most prominent chateau hotels where guests can take part fully in the harvest and vinification process.

Ceremony

Since the chateau opened its doors for events, many couples have seen it as the fulfillment of their dream chateau wedding amidst the French countryside. It's a perfect combination of elegance, gastronomy, fine wines, and the beauty of nature.

As a fairy-tale setting for destination weddings in France, you can get married outdoors in a gazebo overlooking the rural Lot region or indoors inside one of its wide stately halls. The forecourt facing the castle is also an ideal space for ceremonies as it offers astounding views of the valley from the patio.

There's a small chapel inside one tower where solemn religious ceremonies can occur. This sanctified chapel can welcome up to 40 guests.

Inside the chateau halls are state rooms with ideal facilities for special events. They are available for indoor weddings if it rains on your big day. The fully equipped rooms offer a peaceful environment and a wide range of facilities for your intimate wedding.

Reception

Whether eloping with no guests or having an intimate wedding with a small group of your favorite people, you can host an elegant dinner or reception in the chateau.

There's an option that is most suitable for gatherings of 20 people or more where dinner, drinks, and accommodations are included. The reception area is an elegant space with palatial interiors and a constellation of pendant lights in the middle for a modern twist.

There are bigger dining rooms with a capacity of 100 persons for sit-down dinners and smaller rooms for cocktails.

If you want an outdoor wedding reception on a sunny wedding day, you can use the courtyard with lush greenery and a spacious ambiance for dinner and cocktails.

You can expect the highest food quality from the chateau because their refined cuisine is lauded in the major national and international guides. Above all, it was awarded one star in the Michelin Guide 2017. It pays tribute to the world-famous gastronomy of the Quercy region as developed by the venue's renowned former Chef.

Aside from the food, an extensive wine list showcases Georges Vigouroux wines, and other great Occitania and French wines are available for your enjoyment.

Facilities

The facilities of the chateau impress with its small park that is perfect for your wedding photoshoot. It has a beautiful swimming pool for welcome drinks and a wooded park with a patio overlooking the Lot Valley. You and your guests can also use the tennis court for added enjoyment.
